My only gripe with Slayer is the onslaught of shit tasks. If it mainly consisted of tasks revolving around specialised levelled monsters you need special requirements to kill that gave good exp with good drops, it could easily be so fun. I'm doing wildly slayer atm, my last 4 tasks were Rogues, Bandits, Bears and Scorpions.
