Ecology. the study of how organisms interact with one another

the non-living parts of an organism's environment. Autotroph. organisms that use energy from the sun or energy stored in chemical compounds to manufacture their own nutrients. Biosphere. portion of Earth that supports life; extends from the atmosphere to the bottom of the oceans. Biotic factor. all the living organisms that inhabit an environment.ecosystem. group of organisms that live in an area, along with their non-living (abiotic) surroundings. abiotic. non-living; never alive.
