1939 P08 with Nazi and Imperial markings. Hello all, I recently acquired a P08 after desiring one for many, many years. Specifically I was looking for one with a high probability of a war time capture, which I think I have. I'm hoping from the pictures, the experts here could tell me more about the history of this pistol.

The stitching is white and all original — the belt loops are in good shape. It is marked with the Bavarian crown over the roman numeral III.1942 should be the correct year. I think 1943 was the last year for Luger production, although some were probably assembled from spare parts later. I don't see a lightening bolt "3" or "E" under the sn on the frame. I don't have my books to check if a "ns" no suffix block was made in 1940, but on the way from the "z" block back to the "a" block there is a no-suffix block.
