Python is slower and has limitations, but you might find developing for it much faster. C / Arduino let's you exploit your ESP32 to the max, and there are some libraries that can't be found in micropython. However you might find it more tedious and messy. In my experience, if I don't care about speed (I usually don't), I use micropython.
