Once, I found three Salvaged Frigate Modules at a single Wrecked Freighter. No guarantees, just RNG. You can get up to 5 per npc convoy, 1 every 2 sentinel freighters (rng). Dereilict freighters definitely arent the best places to farm them. It is a random drop from blue loot boxes.

Before exiting your ship, put the item you want to dupe into the refiner. Exit your ship and remove the item from the refiner. You can also find them on the frigates around the freighter itself if you're not concerned about your standing with factions.
