When i bought the eco diesel, they were still using the 5W-20. The EcoDiesel is perfect as a daily driver and for light to moderate towing needs. The Cummins is perfect for heavier towing needs, but not as a daily driver. I have a need for both trucks, so I'm not torn between the 1500 and 2500/3500. Before COVID, you could find really good deals on Ram 1500 EcoDiesel trucks.
