Cookie clicker seed

Keeping seed after sacrificing garden. I have seen some older tutorials that state that you can keep a seed when sacrificing your garden by selecting it and planting it after sacrificing. I cannot seem to get this to work, tried with queenbeet. Does anybody know if this has been patched?

Unless it has "predictable growth" in it's description, the plant may or may not advance when the garden tick occurs. Sometimes crops advance way more than one tick at once.
