Subaru seems to have capitulated to lawyers and the regulatory environment to render life with the Outback Wilderness (and XT, as I've tested) quite unpleasant. A few cases in point: The vehicles won't allow you to drive one MPH without ALL the seatbelts fastened.From the website "parts.subaru.com" it appears that all trims of both the Legacy and the Outback from 2020-2023 have the same front rotors and pads, and the same rear rotors. Any outback, from 2002 and up, with a 6 cylinder engine is a solid car. The 6 cylinders don't have the head gasket problems of the gen 3, and none of the piston oil consumption problems of the gen 4. In the 2.5 4 cylinder variety, a gen 3 non-turbo that has had the head gasket and timing belt done is also likely to be nice and reliable.

We drove up from Hamilton to Missoula on icy roads without any issues and spent the night causing trouble without getting caught (the parking lot of the new mall was large, flat, and slick). The 2023 Outback has full screen android auto so if Google needed to do anything, they've already done it. Not sure why the 2020-2022 aren't getting that feature backported.
