I’m having a very hard time deciding between the Christopher Ward Sealander 36mm and the Traska Summiteer 36mm. Both have their pros and cons, but the main ones are the dial size (CWard) and the finishing (Traska). And the Miyota 9039 rotor action in the Traska Commuter is much louder, particularly when freely spinning in the non-winding direction. The Christopher Ward dual flag pattern decorates the movement’s rotor, visible through the see-through sapphire case back.

I am pleased to see that Traska kept its proportions in check, eschewing the common fat cylinder and opting instead for a broad, flat shape that better suits the case. After all, the Summiteer is a field watch, not a diver. As if this were not enough, Traska outfits the watch with one of the best bracelets I’ve tried in recent memory.
