Best companions for story in pathfinder kingmaker.

Hello. I’m about to start playing this game for the first time and I was hoping some could indicate which companions are the best/most interesting, story-wise? I’m far more interested in rich stories than having the perfect build (though, I’ll be exploring that later). Thoughts? Thanks! PS. My apologies if there’s another similar thread. Of the ones you listed, I liked the trickster and legend story line the best. Swarm is really hard a ml 8, but gets easier when you can start popping out swarm clones.
