When I bought my Emerald off of eBay (very stupid, I know, it was fake >.<) I was obsessed with knowing whether it was real or fake. I watched video after video, read article after article. At every startup, it displayed that the save file was corrupted, except for that the game was working fine. Well, the original Japanese games were Red and Green, Green was replaced by 'Blue' for the American release. I think it had something to do with updated visuals etc. FireRed and LeafGreen are basically remakes of Red and Green.
