SVT32VDOHC. 358 posts · Joined 2007. #9 · Oct 6, 2012. Stumbled upon this thread while trying to figure out a belt size for a STOCK 5.0, stock pullies, Ford A/C eliminator kit, and NO smog pump. That chart is wrong. A 73" belt is too long. I tried every belt from 73 down. NO BELT FITS.
On my 460, I removed the air pump, hoses, and valve. Redid my vacuum harness to remove line to valve, and capped off that port. You may also have to plug your manifolds, where the lines go in. Since i completely re-did my exhaust I did not have to deal with that. I just run a shorter belt.Parts that I used: Proform 68110 5.0/5.8L smog pump eliminator bracket and pulley from JEGS $55. From the left side of the water pump, cross underneath to the right side of the crank pulley, wrap down and around to the left. To remove the pump, remove all te rubber hoses and lines that connect to the h pipe and back of heads. Plug the ports at rear of heads and cap the line at the h-pipe. Follow the vac lines back to the solenoids and remove the line, or cut and cap the vac line. Charcoal canister is unrelated.
