Keep your chin up and prepare for each possibility - but don't start studying again. Put the books away and enjoy not studying.If after answering only 75 questions your performance is adequate to prove that you’re competent, the test will shut off. The same works for poor performance. Receiving only 75 test questions does not necessarily ensure a passing score. Many who take the NCLEX receive more questions than 75. If you do too, don’t worry.

The NCLEX only shuts off at 75 if you did well or very very poorly. If you did really poorly you would have felt like you were struggling with every question. I always tell my grads that if it shut off at 75 and you did not feel like you messed up nearly every question then you passed! I have never been wrong on this observation.

The NCLEX actually stops at 75 questions, so you can certainly pass it in that amount of questions. Generally it takes somewhere in the 120s-150s, but don't freak out if you haven't finished in 150 questions. The RN NCLEX is no longer 75 minimum it’s 60 minimum and 130 max. 75 and shut off isn’t necessarily good or bad. You might have aced it (I hope you did) but it also shuts off if people stay below the passing line for a certain number of questions.
