Then use a little thread locker. I did this for the first time on my wife's 3800 and it's still fine. Not even a coolant elbow leak, but I could be lucky on that one.

its a pretty straight forward gasket replacement. Drain the coolant. Remove the fuel Rails. remove the Supercharger ( leave the TB on) remove the Lower intake. wipe up any coolant in the block. flush some oil down the valley of the motor. and then reinstall.I just purchased a ZZP intake, ported SC, and a Garlock LIM gasket. The intake has a lot of meat removed between the blower output and the wastegate hole. Trying to determine if this open area should be cut from the gasket, or left alone. ZZP seems to indicate the latter, and I am not buying into that. See attached pictures.

1) disconnect the ECT. 2) connect resistances 1400, 93, and 55 ohms in turn and observe guage. 3) guage should read min, mid, and max temperature. This tested out just fine. 1400 ohms is for 40°C, and the min in the guage is 40°C. 93 ohms is for 120°C, and the exact mid positon is 120°C. Likewise for the max.

The LIM Gasket failure on the 3800 II should be common knowledge to most mechanics, unless they are just shade tree mechanics, that is in my opinion. Have the lower intake manifold gasket changed to FEL-PRO Part # MS98014T, and have the EGR stove pipe swapped to the reduced diameter one that comes in that kit.
