From the 60 or so posts I have found on the subject only the .357 has such a robust release, several reports cite info from Ruger that the situation is, in fact-'normal'. Trouble with LCRX. I bought a new LCRX .327 Mag about three weeks ago. The cylinder crane release button is very stiff - takes a lot of pressure to free the cylinder to open for loading.
