From the 60 or so posts I have found on the subject only the .357 has such a robust release, several reports cite info from Ruger that the situation is, in fact-'normal'. To be clear-this is NOT an attempt to slam Ruger-we now have four lcr revolvers and except for the .357 all perform flawlessly, especially the 9mm.

Then yes Ruger can repair the LCR but not your wrist! Comparing the 2 is like a smith n frame 44 mag it is very durable a ruger redhawk is more durable to the point of almost indestructability.I've had my Ruger LCR .22 LR for less than 2 years. It took a while to learn to shoot it accurately, short barrel and all. Otherwise no problems until last.357 reloads, 158gr lead making about 1150fps from a 3" barrel (never chrono'd out of the LCR). Trouble with LCRX. I bought a new LCRX .327 Mag about three weeks ago. The cylinder crane release button is very stiff - takes a lot of pressure to free the cylinder to open for loading. Also the cylinder seems to stick when I open or close the cylinder. Again, takes a lot of pressure to open or close the cylinder.
