They do offer scholarships/grants for grad school and research, but unless you’re going to apply for one of those the membership is pretty useless.

While Phi Kappa Theta is a legitimate honor society, it isn't a particularly useful one because it's for 2-year degree students. So it gets effectively 'replaced' by 4-year honor societies in very short order. It's really only useful if you know the school you want to transfer to offers scholarships for PTK members.
